Maddalena Forest

The forest complex stands on both loose and lava volcanic soils of volcanological, geomorphological and botanical interest. The mild and gentle climate fosters a type of evergreen vegetation, now gradually disappearing from our coasts, as a result of the deforestation carried out by man along the Mediterranean routes. The wooded area is characterised by the presence of the holm oak and stone pine forests.
