The Guevara's Tower, together with the Castle, represents a symbol of Ischia. It is a towered house that rises majestically in front of the Castle, immersed in an immense green lawn, a few metres from the "S.Anna Cliffs", in the bay of Cartaromana. Its construction, dating back to the end of the 15th century, is attributed to Don Giovanni De Guevara, a man-of-arms from Spain who belonged to the retinue of Alfonso I of Aragon, who appointed him "Hand of the King" in 1454.
