News from the Italian Parks

Within the Life+ "Praterie" Community Project a first meeting between the Park Authority and the Administrators joining the Project took place today in Assergi. Marcello Maranella, director of the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga Park, as well as several mayors and delegates of the municipal administrations of L'Aquila, Castel del Monte, Barisciano, Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Ofena, Villa Santa Lucia, Castelvecchio Calvisio, and of the Detached Administrations for the Collective Use Goods of Paganica, San Gregorio and Assergi took part in the meeting.
The meeting focused on the sharing of a concertation strategy that will lead Administrators, Park Authority, Breeders, trade associations and any other group to a harmonization of the grazing rules, that is a framework regulation which can be acknowledged at least by the above mentioned municipalities and adopted by the Park Authority within its own Park Plan. A long, difficult but also fascinating process, which all the participating Administrators showed their interest in.
