The LIFE "Praterie" Project, which started on 1 November 2012, is now drawing to a close with more than positive results, as its objectives of conserving and safeguarding the valuable habitats of pasture and high-elevation prairies have been achieved.
In order to reflect on the project experience and revive the discussion on the close connection between pasture and biodiversity conservation, Gran Sasso-Laga National Park organises an international conference on "Prairies: pastoral wealth as environmental heritage", on 12 October 2017 at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics.
