The Municipalities' proposals for the Stupinigi relauch
For some years now, the Municipalities of the area of the Natural Park and the Hunting Residence of Stupinigi have been collaborating to enhance the value of these great natural and architectural assets. The representatives of the six municipalities (Candiolo, Nichelino, Orbassano, Beinasco, None, Vinovo), together with the Park Authority and the Ordine Mauriziano Foundation, met last Tuesday 26 January at the headquarters of the Piedmont Region to illustrate to the President Alberto Cirio a collection of suggestions and proposals, as a contribution to the regional planning for the relaunch of the territory. The document, known as the "Masterplan", was drawn up with the contribution of the CRT Foundation and is still open to any constructive suggestions.
The proposals presented concern general themes: the reorganisation of the road network, the improvement of cycling and connections with the network of footpaths within the Nature Park, public mobility (with attention to the extension of Line 4 to Stupinigi and the suitable connection of the neighbouring municipalities), the enhancement of the landscape and the environment also outside the Nature Park, in the area from the Chisola stream to the Sangone. Other proposals are aimed at social and inclusiveness, including the promotion of quality agricultural production and services to tourism. Fundamental is the recovery of the great historical heritage that is still underused and, in part, in a poor state of repair.
The Municipalities have therefore asked the Piedmont Region to lead the territory's recovery by setting a "Control Booth", where all the important players can meet and cooperate.
President Cirio and Councillor Poggio appreciated the work and its progress, reaffirming the decision to include Stupinigi among the Piedmont strategic priorities, by starting to find European funds to be allocated to the development of the "Stupinigi District", mainly in the tourism and agri-food sectors.
