The itinerary leaves from Concesa, a country hamlet of Trezzo sull'Adda, and exactly from the Sanctuary of Divina Maternità with the annexed monastery of the Discalced Carmelites. Cross the channel of Naviglio della Martesana, originating here and that, during the summer, you can navigate up to Vaprio, and the river Adda on a footbridge that was built to favor the access of the workmen to the village. Turn right and follow the asphalt road running along the water diversion channel feeding the hydroelectric power plant of Crespi facilities.
You will reach in this way the workers' housing estate declared in 1995 World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It was founded by the cotton manufacturer Cristoforo Benigno Crespi who, around the cotton mill, created a village whose structure reflected the hierarchy within the firm. The complex is characterized by English influences both in the urban planning and building structures.
It is possible to visit the village through a theatrical audio tour that will make you discover the life of this tiny village in the 1920s in an unusual way.
