Entracque Potato
Thanks to the valley bottom's favorable weather and land conditions, the potato cultivation is one of the most widespread ones all over the Park's territory.
To enhance this humble but necessary product, the "Entracque Potato Producers Association" has been established in Entracque: every first sunday of September the association organizes a local fair to promote its product.
Different cultivars are produced, such as the Monalisa, the Primura and the Kennebec, but the Piatlìna is considered as the real Entracque Potato. This variety of white potato is characterized by a quiet flat shape and by the presence of red deep-set buds. It is very difficult to find because of its poor yield and its lower storage duration compared with other varieties. Only few enthusiastic producers keep on growing it in order to renew a very rare plantation.
