(Comacchio, 31 Jan 23) During the tenth congress meeting for Federparchi, the network of Italian protected areas, (Rome 26 January), the new National Board of Directors was elected and Aida Morelli, president of the Po Delta Park Emilia Romagna re-elected. The congress assembly of the Italian Federation of Parks and Nature Reserves also approved the association's policy document, that considers the objectives of the 2030 Agenda. The Board of Directors will soon elect the Federation's Executive Council.
Federparchi works to promote the creation of regional systems, the national system, and the European system of protected areas, in accordance with the guidelines of the Europarc Federation. It promotes the conservation and correct valorisation of the natural environment, as well as historical cultural and social values in harmony and agreement with public institutions at international, national, and local level. The Federation also works to raise public awareness and influence in the policies and programmes of institutions, including those of the European Union and international institutions.
