In the heart of the pinewood
The entrance to the Classe Pinewood is along State Route 16 Adriatica, in Fosso Ghiaia; from there you can reach Parco 1° Maggio, in the heart of the pinewood. Evocative trails depart from there, on foot, by bike or on horseback. Going east you will reach the coastline portion of the pinewood and the coastal dunes; going south you can observe the Ortazzo and Ortazzino wetlands, where little egrets, coots, terns, and black-winged stilts live. You can start the itineraries from the south (Cervia – Milano Marittima – Lido di Savio – Lido di Classe) and north (Lido di Dante) as well, and even from Ravenna, following the Fiumi Uniti riverbanks.
Historically green
The centuries-old Pineta di Cervia can be visited on numerous trails by bike, on foot, or maybe running, following the fitness trail that winds among the pine trees: the main access is in Milano Marittima. The "pinewood trails" go in every direction: going south they reach Cervia, going north Lido di Savio. Going west you will find a perfect place for health: the spa. And not far from there, the perfectly peaceful oasis of Parco naturale di Cervia, where deers, fallow deers and ducks of all species dwell.
The salt way
The history of the Saltworks of Cervia is thousands years old, and they represent today an exceptional union of human work and environment. They are easily reached following State Route 16 Adriatica. The saltworks are strictly protected and host thousands birds including flamingos, pied avocets and Mediterranean gulls. They can be admired by car or bike from the road that goes from Cervia towards Forlì. Some external stretches can be visited on foot. To visit the Saltworks please contact the Forestry Corps (tel. 0544 980193) or the Park's Saltworks visitor centre (tel. + 39 0544 973040).
