The tale of the Ice of Salbertrand entirely told and illustrated by Oreste Rey
The tale of the Ice working in Salbertrand is a further and important plug of everyday life told without artificial reconstructions modifying the descriptive freshness and the spontaneity of the author.
The text retraces from the second half of the 19th century to the 30s of the 20th century the history and the economic effects of the ice working for the community of Salbertrand, starting from the tiring extraction of ice from the glacier Galambra at over 3,000m, up to the creation of the artificial lake and of an Ice house for the production and the preservation of ice.
