(27 Aug 21) Borna Grande di Pugnetto is a Site of Community Importance entrusted to the Royal Parks and managed by the Speleological Group "Explora", belonging to the Lanzo CAI.
The cave, unique in its kind, is very important for the fauna it hosts. However, from a geological point of view, it is relatively uninteresting, given the ravages suffered over the centuries of free access. Luckily, the Explora group has never given up and, after years of barren ravines, has discovered a "treasure": a stretch that has never been explored by human beings, with its concretions intact.
We remind you that every layer represents the geochemical record of weather events over the last tens of thousands of years. Therefore, unexpected fields of study can now be opened.
In the meantime, Explora carries on searching for the connection between the four main caves… maybe one day they will appear in Viù, as a strong local legend has it!
