Before entering the Park from Ponte Verde you can admire the long alley of London planetree, the hybrid created combining the features of Platanus orientalis, the Oriental plane, with the Platanus occidentalis, the American sycamore coming from North America and imported in Europe in 1636. 50% of the planetrees in London belong to this species, that's why it is called London Plane. The alley is characterized by not very big trees and relatively young specimens. The biggest and oldest tree in Turin is a planetree living in Tesoriera park.
