"Organic" agriculture (a not very easy term) has been for long time
prerogative of - if we want - courageous and far-sighted pioneers,

Afterwards, when the European Union transformed it into a specific
agricultural activity with precise rules defining it, organic
agriculture has become the strength of the route towards sustainable
and therefore ecocompatible agriculture.
