(Mantova, 18 May 16) The Agreement for the Mincio river has reached its implementation stage.
A process destined to change the future of the Mincio river has started, across the territories between Garda and Po, Lombardy and Venetia, originating the lakes of Mantua and the Valli del Mincio wetland.
The first signatory is the Regional Councillor for Environment Claudia Maria Terzi, followed by 45 authorities and other 16 private signers who contribute to the planning providing 59 priority interventions for the river habitats.
The implementation of the agreement is transferred to the Mincio Park in its capacity as responsible subject, having the 10% of already available resources: almost 6 million Euros that will be used for interventions destined to make a strong contribution to the improvement of the water quality: interventions on the water purifiers of seven municipalities in order to improve the quality of the waste water, further interventions to reactivate the water circulation in the Valli del Mincio Nature Reserve, further works on the artificial tributaries of the Mincio river with storm drains to limit the polluting load poured into the Mincio river, in the Valli del Mincio and in the Lakes of Mantua.
