An electric boat, silent and non-polluting, follows a highly evocative itinerary, which leads to different environments in the heart of the Nature Reserve. The boat departs from a quiet dock on the right shore, and penetrates one of Mincio River's branches, surrounded by groves of reeds where numerous bird species live. The river then gradually broadens out to form Lago Superiore: there, the boat circles a wide purple herons breeding ground, and navigates among vast fields of water lilies and lotus flowers. In this delicately balanced water ecosystem visitors have the chance to observe many bird species, both migrating and non-migrating: different types of Ardeidae and Anatidae, marsh harrows, great crested grebes, small birds living in the reed groves and fens, such as reed warblers, Cetti's warblers, bearded tits and Savi's warblers.
