The territory of Montemarcello-Magra Park offers several local wine and gastronomy products and many traditional dishes characterizing the various areas of the inland and seafront areas of La Spezia, different for environmental and cultural features. Over 15 products have already been added to the regional atlas of traditional products (including different apple varieties, Birindella peach, Alberello courgette, etc.) and others will be added soon. The rich wine and gastronomy heritage includes quality agricultural products mainly coming from Val di Vara, like onion and Pignone potato, local traditional dishes like testaroli, mesc-ciua, lard paté, prosciutta castelnovese and Pignone sausage, Brugnato cheese, Sarzana sweets and, last but not least, the mussels of La Spezia Gulf.
Riviera di Levante extra-virgin olive oil has obtained the PDO label, Colli di Luni wine (white and red) the DOC label, Calice al Cornoviglio honey the PAT label (Traditional Agri-Foodstuffs). Val di Vara also boasts an autochthonous chicken breed: Gigante nera.
