Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise

In 1990, by decree of the President of the Italian Republic Francesco Cossiga, on 19 January, the Municipalities of Castel San Vincenzo, Pizzone, Rocchetta a Volturno, Filignano and Scapoli entered with their territory into the Abruzzo National Park, for a total of 4,000 hectares: thus, the "Mainarde section" was born, an area naturally suited to sustainable and respectful use of the environment, so extraordinarily rich in biodiversity.
