(Pescasseroli, 14 Oct 10) The Park Authority appreciated a lot the thanks and positive considerations coming from the heads of Europarc Federation at the end of the European Conference on Protected Areas that was held in Pescasseroli, in Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
"There are no words to thank the Park for the wonderful Conference organized for the many delegates coming from the European Countries and for the guests coming from the other continents" we read in the message sent, also on behalf of the President Erika Stanciu, by Carol Ritchie, Director of Europarc Federation, to President Giuseppe Rossi. The Conference, the message continues, "has been interesting, pleasant, and rich in many ideas and excellent contributions".
In the message, they also express the hope that the Park "might have enjoyed, on this occasion, a good publicity and an adequate visibility also in front of politicians, administrators, and local communities".
Speaking of local communities, the heads of the European Federation of Parks request to convey "our thanks to the inhabitants of Pescasseroli and the other Park towns for their friendliness and hospitality". All the delegates involved "talked about them with gratefulness".
Finally, a consideration on the Park President he appreciated a lot: "the delegates especially appreciated the presence of the President during the whole Conference and his helpfulness towards any kind of need". Something unusual in a President, the message continues, given without a doubt "to his kindness and hospitality, as well as his strong commitment to the Park and to Europarc".
Of course, President Giuseppe Rossi has thanked in his turn Europarc Federation, its heads Erika Stanciu and Carol Ritchie, its staff and the delegates who participated in this unforgettable meeting and gave an essential and excellent contribution to the discussions held during the plenary sessions and in the many thematic workshops. As a matter of fact, the general consideration received by the "Declaration of Pescasseroli" demonstrates the good job done in these days to promote the parks and nature conservation. Now the hope is that this Declaration will be adequately considered by the governments of the various European Countries and by the European Union.
President Rossi has also mentioned that it was a pleasure for the Park and the local communities to have for a few days as kind guests operators and personalities of such an important cultural and professional level, hoping for a positive development of the undertaken commitments and the many relations that have been activated and that will be constantly improved in the future.
