(Sassalbo, 04 Oct 12) In the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine there are lots of high quality food products
and a great food and wine culture: the competition called "Appennino Gastronomico - Menu
a Km Zero" is a favoured way to discover these excellences.
In the 2012 edition the Tuscan - Emilian Apennine National Park wants
to enhance the local products and to head the tourism towards an offer more
and
more linked with the uniqueness of its territory.
The partnership with ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine, underlines
the intention of recovering and qualifying the characteristic food productions
of the Apennine.
The project is sponsored by the association Coldiretti with the aim of shortening
the distribution chain, connecting producers and consumers. Moreover the clients
are involved in the close examination of food education. The menus that will
be proposed are made with local and seasonal products. These last are produced
in the neighbouring countries assuring in this way quality, freshness and uniqueness.
Furthermore they reduce the pollution due to the transports.
A popular jury in partnership with a technical one composed by members of ALMA,
the International School of Italian Cuisine, will award the menu that will have
used and match the local products encouraging the rediscovery of the traditional
recipes.
27 restaurants participate to the competition and their menu will be available
on Saturday for dinner and on Sunday for lunch from October, 13en to November,
25th. The list of the winners will be published on the websites of the National
Park, ALMA and Coldiretti.
The winners will be selected matching the judgement of the technical jury with
the public vote on the website of the National Park http://www.parcoappennino.it/menukm0-12.php
