Alpe di Succiso mountain group is the most intact and central mountain group of the National Park, both as far as geographical position and naturalistic-environmental interest are concerned: there are no roads nor infrastructures, the historical mule tracks have been preserved, the two mountain huts are recent but they well fit the environment. You will enter from Succiso along Upper Liocca Valley, along the legendary route of Frederick I Barbarossa, who forced the opening of Pietratagliata Pass. Then, you will climb to the highest summit, 2,016m, and go down in the depression of Rio Pascolo.
