(Manarola - Sede, 13 Jul 17) Born in Tultepec, Mexico, Victor Contreras studied organ and harpsichord in Paris with Eric Lebrun, Élisabeth Joyé and Richard Siegel. He held organ specialisation courses at the Regional Conservatory of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés (Val-de-Marne, France), at the National Music Conservatory, and at the Faculty of Music of UNAM University in Mexico City. He studied orchestral conducting with Sergio Cárdenas and was guest conductor of several symphonic orchestras. In his country he founded the Santa Prisca Organ Festival in Taxco de Alarcón, in the state of Guerrero, and the International Organ Festival of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in Zamora de Hidalgo. In 2013, under the aegis of the National Institute of Fine Arts, he founded the International Organ Festival of Mexico City, of which he is the artistic director. He regularly performs in Mexico, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, United States and Brazil. He is currently working on the "EpistolasSonoras" project: three albums of Mexican music - Baroque, 20th century and contemporary.
