The geography manuals could use Vallone dell'Entrelor as a clear example of glacial step or threshold, witnessing the geological history of the valley dug by Quaternary glaciers. In front of Rhêmes Notre Dame, take the road entering the village and leading to the bridge on Dora di Rhêmes. Beyond the statue dedicated to the Bearded Vulture, in front of the offices of the Park Keepers, go ahead on the right until you will meet the cross-country ski track. Carefully continue walking along the track for a few meters, and then take the rural road leading uphill on the left. After a few hairpin bends, you will reach Alpe Pré du Bois, recently renovated and then, abandoning the ski track on the right, enter the woodland, following the summer trail. The itinerary climbs until you meet an irrigation ditch and continues on the right as a level trail. Suddenly, before meeting a boulder that seems to block the trail, turn left on a steep route that, after only about 50m of difference in height becomes level and leads to the junction of a trail coming from the village of Broillat. Always following the trail uphill, you will find several hairpin bends sometimes coming out of the woodland – be careful in case of abundant snowfall – and you will reach a wooden cross at the entrance of the deep valley.
