Thirty-three Ounce Pear

A variety ripening in winter, with rather big and egg-shaped fruits, with a green color almost entirely covered by a light brown. The pulp, of medium compactness, has a pleasant taste. This pear was already mentioned in the 18th century by Torcia after his journey "in the town of Peligni" (Torcia 1973), whose name can be ascribed to the weight of the fruit.
