Petruccelli della Gattina, a member of the Italian Parliament of Palazzo Carignano, with his caustic opinions seems to agree with over one century of anti-parliamentarism. It agrees with elitists like Mosca, Pareto, and Michels, with those criticizing democracy like Carl Schmitt and, before him, Donoso Cortes; with radical and revolutionary movements, including fascism... And he agrees with those who have recently defined "useless" most of our members of the parliament, whose only task is to push buttons.
In other words, this book by the notable from Lucania, half politician and half narrator, is an interesting and sometimes funny portrait of an ancient Parliament which seems to be still in charge, populated by dying persons who are still too much alive in their heirs and clones.
