(Vogogna, 03 May 11) "ENVITOUR - shared natural resources and promotion instruments" is a project financed by the program Interreg Italy-Switzerland and aims at promoting more than 20 parks and protected areas situated between Lago Maggiore, Lago d'Orta, and Lepontine Alps. The Regional Development Authority of Locarnese and Vallemaggia areas, the Swiss leader of the project, in agreement with its Italian partners, has entrusted Dionea SA from Locarno the development of the sub-project called "The Train of the Parks".
The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Project Locarnese National Park, Val Grande National Park, and the two companies owning Centovallina/Vigezzina railway line (FART for Switzerland and SSIF for Italy), aims at promoting the railways as a sustainable means of communication between the axes of Sempione and Gottardo and as an instrument to discover the territory housing the Parks and the protected areas between Locarno and Domosossola.
From 21st to 27th May 2011, one-day guided tours will be organized within the perimeter of the Project of Locarnese National Park (21st, 23rd, 25th, and 26th May) and near Val Grande National Park (22nd, 24th, and 27th May).
The contribution includes the transport (round trip by train) and the service of specialized tour guides who will lead the participants to discover the territory and its features.
