The via ferrata (EEA) Selvaggio Verde is an 11 km route with a difference in height of 417 m that connects In la Piana to Ponte Velina along the Rio Val Grande gorge. It is made up of two separate sections: In la Piana (junction of the path P40)-Orfalecchio and junction of the path P50b-Ponte Velina. These two sections are connected by an equipped path for experienced hikers. Long stretches are unprotected and force hikers to walk on a narrow track, that is always exposed.
Downstream from Orfalecchio, there is an escape route through which you can reach Ruspresso via the paths P50b (Val Foiera-Corte Buè section) and P07b (Corte Buè-Croce di Ompio-Ruspesso section), in about 5 h walking time.
The path between Ponte Casletto and Ponte Velina cannot be accessed by the Law no. 10/2020 of the Municipality of San Bernardino Verbano n° 10/2020
Access to and use of the via ferrata are allowed only in accordance with the Regulation that can be consulted here.
