The itinerary develops inside the imposing state-owned forest of Paneveggio, a large woodland covering a fan-shaped area of about 2,700 ha in upper Travignolo basin, between Lagorai chain, Pale di San Martino, and Cime di Bocche, at an altitude between the 1,400 and 2,150m. The spruce firs represent about the 90% of the forest trees and they include some centuries-old specimens that can reach the 40 meters of height.
