Via Mortea path (from the Grazie to Porto Venere)

Access: from the Grazie hamlet reachable by car or bus (line 11 or P)

Note: it is a path connecting the village of Grazie with the hamlet of Porto Venere, crossing the areas of Mortea and Martina which was named after a young girl who inspired a local legend.

Route: at the end of the staircase of the cemetery in Grazie one turns right and follows the Via degli Scavi Romani (on the left there is the entrance of the Villa Romana del Varignano) up to the state road to Porto Venere. One follows the municipal street of S. Antonio. Beyond the small church one goes on climbing along the road up to the beginning of the C.A.I. path No. 518, at an altitude of 120 m above sea level, which soon reaches the altitude of 190 m above sea level. The itinerary develops on both asphalted and dirt roads, crosses holm oaks and pine forests and then enters the typical vegetation of the Maquis shrubland.
