(Rocca di Mezzo, 27 Jul 18) In this summer, gastronomic excellence and handicrafts are on display, in the wonderful setting of the Park's garden in Rocca di Mezzo (Villa Cidonio), location of the Velino Regional Park Market Exhibition, scheduled on 4 and 5 August 2018.
Here, in the cradle of summer tourism, the stalls of quality and handicraft products made by local operators reopen on Saturday 4 August at 3.30 pm: a very popular event that, in the previous editions, had been crowded with thousands of guests. The summer edition also includes environmental education workshops, guided visits inside the headquarters, tasting experiences and many other surprises. At 4.00 pm, there will be a meeting between administrators, operators of the territory and guests at the Villa Cidonio headquarters, focusing on "Climate change and mountain tourism: prospects for the future".
"We have decided to organize the Market Exhibition also in summer to make the excellence of this area known to summer tourists, who visit our mountains" says the Commissioner of the Authority Igino Chiuchiarelli". In addition, "with the support of the local communities that live and produce within the Park, the protection of Nature acquires more strength. The Park is not only flora and fauna but it is also traditions, customs, history and hard work".
The exhibition is mainly reserved for typical products and quality handicraft creations, many marked by the brand "Product recommended by the Park", all to give added value to the system.
The market exhibition, where about thirty producers selected by the Park will exhibit, will also include events for the little ones: on Saturday at 5.30 pm with animated readings and on Sunday at 11.30 am with environmental workshops. On Sunday there will be also a guided tour of the historic Villa Cidonio, the Park headquarters, at 4.00 pm, and the event will end at 8.00 pm.
The event, organized in collaboration with Sherpa coop, is co-financed through the Invitalia funds, as part of the "Delizie D'Abruzzo" enhancement project for the typical products, while the workshops and the animation activities are part of the larger "Per la Nostra Terra!" project, created by the Park with the Municipality of Ovindoli, to raise awareness and to deal with the issues relating to climate change.
