Honey

Today in Taro River Park there are about 150 beehives.
The working cycle follows the seasons and bloomings: between April and May, dandelion honey is gathered; then acacia honey; then lime and chestnut tree honey; last, mixed flower honey. After the gathering, the honey extraction process takes place to separate wax from honey. The product is then left in the ripener to eliminate the scraps. Once put in the jars and labeled, the product is ready to reach the customers.
The products are many: among them, the classical many kinds of honey, propolis, royal jelly, pollen, all with Icea organic label. Among the specialties: Bomba Sprint, an ideal natural energetic product containing honey, pollen, royal jelly, and propolis, and Nocciolella, a unique and natural product with honey and hazelnuts, recalling the taste of nutella.
The honey produced by the Farmstead owning the beehives in the Park territory is signaled in Atlante dei prodotti tipici delle Aree Protette italiane, published by the Italian Ministry of the Environment through Slow Food and Legambiente.
