This volume was born from the collaboration between the two Consortiums
(Lombardy and Piedmont) responsible for the safeguard of Ticino Valley
and is dedicated to the butterflies living in this area: a wildlife
heritage of great value which is necessary to carefully safeguard. The
presentation of the butterflies is divided in the following manner: the
most common butterflies, the butterflies living in the meadows, fields,
and uncultivated and marginal areas, the butterflies living in the
forests, the rare species of the Park, the night butterflies, and the
"different" butterflies, that is butterflies whose behavior is very
different from the cultural stereotype most people have about
butterflies. In the appendix, a glossary of terms.
