E1 European Trail is the connection axis between Northern Europe and Central Mediterranean. It crosses Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy (from North Cape to Capo Passero).
It develops for a total of 6,000 km, out of which 4,000 already with trail markers. At the moment, it ends in Castelluccio di Norcia, in Umbria. The itinerary in Lazio, Abruzzi, and Molise is under construction. The Italian stretch is prepared by F.I.E. with the collaboration of associations, local authorities, and enterprises.
The itinerary crosses Ticino Park for over 100 km, from Sesto Calende (Varese) to the bridge of Mezzana Corti (Pavia).
