The black summer truffle - also called scorsone - has a very irregular surface, a bulbous, round, and cuspidate shape, a not very strong fragrance and the taste of unripe mushroom. Inside, it it has a brown-yellowish color. It usually grows next to oaks and Turkey oaks. It is picked up by expert searchers with the help of truffle dogs. Its weigh can vary from 10/20 grams to 80 g.
