Catalogue of the exhibit consisting of thirty-three paper works - most
of which unpublished - by the important painter from Milan - but of
English origins - Federico Ashton (Milan, 1836 - Kaltwasser - Passo del
Sempione, 1904), who worked in Rome, Milan, Lago Maggiore,
Ossola, and in the Swiss territory. The works on display, among which
watercolors, drawings, and unpublished lithographs representing Toce
waterfall, give the opportunity to analyze some significant stages of
Ashton's painting evolution process, in particular as far as the
techniques characterizing his direct approach to the landscape are
concerned.
