Guida del Sacro Monte di Varallo
After the 1995 edition by Stefania Stefani Perrone, the Reserve has been thinking about a new publication.
The guidebook offers pilgrims and visitors updated information - with the latest restauration works - and a color photo of each chapel, with a short historical introduction on Sacro Monte and all the useful information for the visit. In the appendix, three short essays by Guido Gentile, Piergiorgio Longo, and Elena De Filippis illustrating Sacro Monte and its artistic and religious features, comparing it with the Holy Land. Another section is dedicated to the regional park authority which has been preserving and maintaining Sacro Monte for over thirty years.
