(Feltre, 01 Jun 12) A stylized flower consisting of a big letter "E" surrounded by 12 stars instead of by petals: it is the Ecolabel mark of the European Union many of you might have noticed on some products at the supermarket.
The mark allows the consumers to find the products which meet the high standards concerning the respect of environment. Each product marked with the flower must pass strict tests, and the results are checked by an independent organism. Whereas other environmental marks consider specific environmental issues, such as the recycling and the energy efficiency, the Ecolabel flower proves that there are few environmental impacts during the whole production cycle - from the selection of the materials to the final disposal.
The mark can be also awarded to the tourism businesses, and one of them is Casa Al Frassen, the guesthouse of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, immersed in the woods of the Val Canzoi in Cesiomaggiore (BL).
The mark was awarded at the end of a long technical exam carried out by the ISPRA's Ecolabel National Committee. Read more (in Italian)
