Big-size apples characterized by a dark red color with yellow and vermilion stripes, crunchy and very tasty, pon prussian or Faller apple has been named after the locality in the Municipality of Sovramonte where it is largely cultivated.
It arrived in the valley of Belluno in the first years of the last century, when the people who had emigrated in the last decades of the 19th century returned to their lands bringing with them some seeds of this variety, very widespread in Eastern Germany.
