Zucca santa bellunese, belonging to the plant family Cucurbitaceae, to the genus Cucurbita, and to the species Cucurbita maxima Duchesne. It is the classical winter squash, annual and harvested in autumn when it is ripe. The fruit is characterized by a big size, flat at the top, weighing about 3 kilos. The tough skin is usually green, but sometimes has pinky shades and large yellow areas, it is ribbed and bumped, crossed by longitudinal streaks going from the top to the bottom.
