Leaving the Faè-Fortogna station, take the paved road that climbs to the Cajada basin, with beautiful views of the Piave valley and the imposing front of the landslide which, during the last ice age (25-30,000 years ago), broke away from the Cime di Caiada, completely filling and obstructing Val Desedan. On the large basin formed by the landslide an imposing forest developed, exploited for centuries by the Serenissima Republic of Venice, which from here obtained the large trunks necessary to make the masts of its ships.
Arrived on the basin, the road becomes less steep, crosses the wood passing in front of the "Villa Scotti" dairy, near which you can admire the "regina di Cajada": a majestic monumental white fir, 35 meters high and with an estimated age of 200 years old.
The road then continues up to the Palughet hut, from here it continues in front of the cheese hut and reaches a spectacular view on the landslide front. From the panoramic viewpoint, the road continues until it returns to the path used on the outward journey, along which you descend to Faè.
