Four thousand year old prehistoric fortifications, routes used by the Romans, ancient watchtowers: this walk around the core of Roncoi, at the foot of Mount Pizzocco, passes through places that tell us about a distant past. Places today immersed in the woods, where archaeologists have found ancient traces of human presence.
The itinerary takes place on a "glacial terrace" formed about 16,000 years ago, when the glacier that occupied the Piave valley was melting and water accumulated debris in the empty spac,  created between the side of the valley and the retreating glacial tongue.
