Accessible from Vignui (and, in some cases, also from Lasen), it is crossed by the very clear waters of torrent Stien which suddenly springs from the steep walls separating the well-drained plateau from the valley bottom and from Pian dei Violini area which has recently undergone artificial reforestation. The valley is particularly suitable for family walks, especially in summer, starting from low altitudes up to the junction with two trails leading to Ramezza (on the right, across a very large beech wood), and to the two "Scalón" of Pietena and the Vette (on the left). Interesting examples of alpine flora and vegetation are already present at an altitude of 600m together with the remains of human activities such as the so-called "calchère" (lime-kilns near Fornàs).
Hydric pipes reduce the quantity of circulating water and are a sign of the tribute paid by the mountain to the people living in the valley bottoms or in the plain.
