Pattine, a former mining center and a picturesque small village, is situated at the bottom end of the valley lying beyond the town of California. The village is nowadays dominated by the luxuriant riparian vegetation. From Pattine, across a gorge covered with woods, it is possible to reach the high-mountain pastures of Campotorondo (also accessible from Erera across Forcella Pelse Pass). The itinerary is fascinating, especially for its wildlife features.
