Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi

Although the Park borders are often at high altitudes, the whole basin (access from Soffranco) is highly spectacular. The silver fir woods situated in the lowest part of the valley are extremely interesting. Several lateral valleys such as Grave di San Marco, dei Ross, dei Nass meet here. A well-marked trail crossing Casèra Ronch leads you to Pian de Fontata Mountain Hut, not very far from Forcella La Varetta, of great environmental interest (flora, geology). Well-trained hikers can climb further and reach the spectacular basins of Van de Zità and the mountain group of the Talvèna, which has already been mentioned among the Park nature sanctuaries.
