The itinerary leaves from the main square of Tossignano, an ancient village built on the gypsum formations, situated in a dominating position over the Vena and Santerno Valley.
The itinerary, developing between the Provinces of Bologna and Ravenna, is about 11 kilometers long and takes about 8 hours, without considering a stop for the packed lunch you can have in the beautiful meadows at the shadow of the chestnut trees.
You can also take the itinerary from Borgo Rivola, from the car park the Park has equipped as departure point of both Riva di San Biagio ring-route and Mt. Mauro ring-route. Climb going around the town and you will shortly reach via Sasso Letroso leading to the homonymous church where the trail meets the ring-route.
